Loved this Place! Very legendary in San Bernardino and the food lives up to the hype! I've not been here in about 3- 4 years and I was wondering if they went down hill, but my worries were put to rest. I wanted to try a Sandwich that I have not tried and I was craving a Philly Cheesesteak, so I got the Shack Philly with extra cheese and sauce. My wife got the Definitely Smashed Burger. Their version of a Philly Cheesesteak is 🔥🔥🔥. I was skeptical at first, but when I saw the preparation 1st hand, I knew they knew what they were doing. 1st bite was tasty, with the peppers and grilled onions, but the Sandwiche's Cheese Pull was phenomenal. And the sace they use gives it an extra layer of flavor. I took a bite of my Wife's Definitely Smashed Burger and yet again their version of it, topped with Brisket...🔥🔥🔥, definitely worth checking out! All in all, I give my return to the Shack a 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (4 out 5 Fire Flames)

The Green Shack is a great spot, especially if you’re looking for sandwiches made with care and strong flavors. The food is consistently good and worth the wait, but the sensory environment can be overwhelming if you’re not prepared for it. The sandwich counter is located inside a busy store packed with all kinds of items, so there is a lot happening at once. It’s noisy, crowded, and full of movement. If you’re in a hurry, avoid peak lunch hours because the line gets long and the wait can be significant. One of the most welcoming parts of the experience is how they announce when someone is a first‑time visitor. It’s a small gesture, but it makes the place feel friendly and personal. The sandwiches themselves are excellent. They’re made with attention to detail, the ingredients taste fresh, and the flavors come together really well. You can order combos that include chips and a drink, and they offer both fountain beverages and standard bottled soft drinks. They also have salads and desserts, including banana pudding, which is a nice addition. The environment isn’t fancy, but that’s not what this place is about. Little hole-in-the-wall, apparently historic, very similar to a NYC deli + market vibe and a comic style art menu. People working were cool and friendly. I had: ​The Joker: A pastrami cheese, which was stacked with meat (see pics), although could've use additional toppings in combo of meat (get the Joker sauce on the side). Solid 8/10. For additional $, get it on the Dutch Crunch bread—it was soft and didn't shred the roof of my mouth like Ike’s Dutch Crunch. ​The Side: The Jalapeño Popper Potato Salad. Cold potato salad that had a jalapeño crunch. Decent. 7/10. ​The Vibe: Feels like a busy NYC deli + market . Dining is available, through a hallway backdoor and on porch. It was a bit uninviting, but did the job. Solid recommendation to try out. ​I’ll be back for sure.

This is a hidden gem. Love the outside patio music.. from the door to the Beatles. The place could use some TLC however the sandwiches ans fries are delicious. I personally wasn't a big fan of the cold sides. But to each their own. The staff is super friendly, energetic makes you feel welcomed.

Man, if you never been to the green shack, you’re missing out. You have to get there early because he gets packed real fast. They have great customer service. I love the whole environment. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. My mom used to come here and pay your bills. I really recommend you come and check them out. Best subs in San Bernardino.
